Audrey Truth Leadership Award

Audrey Truth

Audrey Truth was President of the Richmond Ravens, then called Richmond Girls Ice Hockey Association (RGIH), from 1998-2002. In the early years, the board was very small, and Audrey wore many hats. This mother of five young kids was instrumental in driving female hockey in Richmond and across the Lower Mainland. All of us owe a lot to Audrey for creating the Richmond Ravens that we enjoy today, including launching the Ice Classic Tournament. She was the longest-serving Ravens board member until retiring in 2020, after 25 years of service.

To honour Audrey and her contributions, the Audrey Truth Leadership Award is given annually to a Ravens player who demonstrates exceptional leadership and involvement within the association. The award is by nomination only.

2024 Recipient - Emily Dragicevic

Emily was nominated by her coaching staff for her outstanding leadership and dedication during her time with the Richmond Ravens Female Hockey Association. She joined the Ravens as a determined 4-year-old and completed her journey with the U21 team, graduating from the Association in March 2024. Throughout the years, Emily was a remarkable volunteer, frequently mentoring younger Ravens and actively participating in Association events like Try Hockey.

Throughout her hockey career, Emily brought joy and a positive attitude that uplifted her peers. She was a natural leader who earned the admiration of her teammates and guided her U21 team to a championship, capping off an impressive list of hockey achievements during her time as a Raven.

Emily is an outstanding role model and a great ambassador for the Ravens. Her passion and commitment have left a lasting impact on the Ravens community.  It is with great pleasure, the Ravens Board of Directors award Emily Dragicevic the Audrey Truth Leadership Award.

Congratulations Emily, we can't wait to see what you will achieve next!
