Tournament Details

The Richmond Ice Classic, inaugurated in 1996, is the largest female recreational hockey tournament in North America.

This destination tournament is a unique opportunity to play against other recreational female hockey teams. On March 28-30th, over 1700 female athletes will attend the Richmond Ice Classic from over 100 recreational hockey teams.

More than half of the teams will travel to Richmond from places throughout Canada and the USA. Many of them have come for years or even decades. Teams and players love finishing their seasons at the Richmond Ice Classic.

In 2024, the Richmond Ravens Female Hockey Association was thrilled to host its largest Ice Classic ever. In 2025 we will be even bigger! Join us and be part of it!

Tournament Details

  • NEW!! U9 teams may register for either cross-ice or full-ice divisions!
  • U9 cross-ice format will be 2-squads. Each team must dress 2 goalies in each game. We have no minimum roster size, but we recommend at least 12 skaters.
  • U7 format is single-squad with 1 goalie, and is suitable for smaller rosters.

 

  • WHEN:
    • Friday March 28 to Sunday March 30th, 2025.
    • Vancouver-area teams might play on Thursday evening.
  • WHERE:
    • Richmond Ice Centre 6-rink complex in Richmond, BC (a suburb of Vancouver, Canada)
  • GAME TIMES:
    • U7, U9 and U11 games are 60 minutes each.
    • U13 to U21 games are 75 minutes each.
  • FORMAT:
    • All teams are guaranteed four games.
    • At U11-U18, each division will have a championship game with medals and banners.
    • U21 will play a mini-tournament of 2 games for a reduced price.
  • SCHEDULE:
    • Travel day is Thursday.
    • Games start on Friday at 7:30 or 8:00 a.m
    • The last possible game ends on Sunday by 6:30 p.m.
    • Every player receives a tournament gift and snacks. MVPs at each game, participation medals for every player at U7, U9 and U21. Medals for finalists at U11-U18.

The Richmond Ravens Female Hockey Association has been supporting female youth hockey since 1994, with a record of success at BC Provincial Championships. Named BC Hockey’s “Minor Hockey Association of the Year” in 2012, the Ravens are now 260 players and 19 teams strong.

The Arena

The Richmond Ice Centre, part of the Riverport complex, features six regulation-sized rinks, a pro shop, and Stanley’s Grill. Additional entertainment options include a 19-screen cinema, pool, bowling, and more.
